Grand Prix of Qatar

Doha, 3 March 2020 - After Sunday’s announcement from Dorna regarding the cancellation of the MotoGP race of the Grand Prix of Qatar due to travel restrictions brought into force affecting passengers from Italy (among other countries) because of the spread of the coronavirus, Losail Circuit Sports Club has announced that Moto2 and Moto3 races will take place from 6-8th March at the circuit. Also the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup will have their two races during the Grand Prix of Qatar.

The Moto2 and Moto3 riders and teams are already in Qatar preparing for the event with winter testing. Six riders in the elite class are Italian - seven-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi, 2019 runner-up Andrea Dovizioso, Danilo Petrucci, Francesco Bagnaia, Franco Morbidelli and Andrea Iannone. Ducati and Aprilia are leading Italian manufacturers. MotoGP riders and teams were in Qatar from February 22-24 for the final session of winter testing.
All the tickets will still be valid for the three-day event with the initial set up for all the different areas remaining the same: Grandstand, Losail Club and VIP Village.  At the Grandstand area fans can still enjoy all the activities scheduled (kids karting, kids quad bikes, skate park and a variety of food vendors) and at the Losail Club there will be live commentary of all the sessions with a live band.
Losail Circuit Sports Club has taken into account all the recommendations by the Ministry of Public Health to carry out the event.
