 3rd ‘Stay at Home’ online c’ship

Doha, 14 April 2020 - The Qatar Chess Association announced on Monday that it will organise the 3rd consecutive international championship -- “Stay at Home” -- a rapid online open chess competition using remote play, which will be launched next Friday in cooperation with Abdullah Abdulghani Company.
The previous edition of the championship witnessed the largest participation in the history of the association’s tournaments, reaching 2354 players and the participation of 40 international professors from different countries.
Qatar Chess Association confirmed that the third championship system will be through accumulating points and the duration of the competitions will be 80 minutes through LIchess App in smartphones or iPads, and the points will be calculated with the classic method.
American chess Grandmaster Andrew Tang won the second international edition last Friday by achieving his second successive title.
