Doha, 24 June 2020 - The Qatar Women’s Sports Committee (QWSC) has confirmed that the resumption of sports activities will begin in September after it had been suspended in the last period due to the spread of the global pandemic due to coronavirus (COVID-19).
Sheikha Al Qahtani, Secretary-General of the Qatar Women’s Sports Committee (QWSC) said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the QWSC has suspended all its sports activities since last March due to the spread of coronavirus in implementation of the decisions issued by the State to curb the spread of COVID-19.
In the last period, the QWSC implemented a number of remote programs, such as practicing yoga and fitness training for players and coaches of different Qatari teams, she noted.
She added that the arrangements that the QWSC will make in the coming period depend on the gradual resumption of training for the Qatari national team players, and also said that team training will begin after the blessed Eid Al-Adha, in August.
