Doha, 21 July 2020 - QNB Stars League leaders Al Duhail have signed Brazilian midfielder Eduardo Pereira Rodrigues (Dudu) on a season-long loan from Brazilian side Palmeiras, the club announced.
“Our club succeeded in completing the deal of the loan of the Professional Brazilian Eduardo Pereira Rodrigues (Dudu) coming from Palmeiras Brazilian club for one year,” the statement read.
According to Brazilian news site ovale.com.br, the deal includes an option to buy worth a reported six million euros.
The 28-year-old who can play as an attacking midfielder and a winger is already in Doha and on Monday posted a photo of the Pearl Qatar on his Instagram story, while confirming his move with a photo in Duhail colours.
Dudu joins Al Duhail with five matches left in the QSL season which is set to resume on July 24 and Walid Regragui’s side are also involved in the AFC Champions League.
He replaces former Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic who recently left the Red Knights as the Croatian failed to make an impact after six months at the club.
Dudu joined Palmeiras in 2015, following a spell at Gremio on loan from Kiev where he spent two and half years. Since his arrival at the Sao Paolo club, he has won two Brazilian Serie A titles and the Copa de Brasil in 2015.
