Doha, 27 July 2020 - Qatari legend Ibrahim Khalfan will feature on Generation Amazing (GA) on Instagram Live this Wednesday.
In a Generation Amazing Star Chat, former Al Arabi and Qatar national team player, Khalfan will take audiences on a trip down memory lane with highlights from his career.
Considered as one of the best Qatari footballers of all time, Khalfan has represented his country in 90 international matches. Khalfan was part of the Qatar team that qualified for the 1984 summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The star makes regular appearances as a beIN SPORTS analyst and was announced as a Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup™ ambassador in 2019.
Also coming up this week on Generation Amazing Instagram Live, Paris Saint-Germain women and Danish national team forward, Nadia Nadim, will talk about her incredible journey from Afghanistan, where she was born, to playing top league professional football.
Nadim has also played for English side Manchester City and achieved over 90 caps for the Denmark women’s national team. Ahead of this week’s online Instagram sessions, Generation Amazing Programmes Director Nasser Al Khori said: “We are delighted to host Qatari football legend Ibrahim Khalfan, who will talk at lengths about his momentous achievements in Qatari football as well as give us insight into the rich footballing history in the country.”
Al Khori adds: “PSG sensation Nadia Nadim will offer some inspiring insight into her background and initiative in the fight towards gender equality in football and elsewhere.”
Last week former Arsenal, Chelsea and Juventus forward, Lianne Sanderson featured on Generation Amazing Live on Instagram. Sanderson recalled her experiences as a professional women’s player as well as the advice she always has for boys and girls hoping to achieve their dreams in football and in life.
The former England forward said: “Who you surround yourself with can either take you to the ground or take you to the sky. I try to surround myself with people who can take me to the sky. As opposed to those who say you can’t do it, you’re a girl. I don’t believe I can’t.”
Talking about the Qatar 2022 social and legacy programme and her time spent in an activity organised by Generation Amazing with girls from Qatar and around the world in Doha, Sanderson added: “I love Generation Amazing. I love everything they are doing so when they asked me to do this, it was a pleasure. If there is anything that I can do to help people, I will.”
