Malmo/Sweden, 23 August 2020 - The world and Olympic champion Mutaz Essa Barshim began a preparatory training camp in Malmo, Sweden, which is within his preparatory programme for upcoming events.
The Qatar Athletics Federation, on its social media platforms, on Friday said that Barshim will participate in daily exercises to prepare for the upcoming championships, the most important of which is the Olympic Games Tokyo 2021.
Last year, Barshim won the Arab Athlete of the Year, presented by the Spanish newspaper AS, after winning the high jump gold at the World Athletics Championships in Doha.
Barshim won two Olympic medals - a bronze in London 2012 and silver in Rio 2016. He is a two-time world champion, after winning the high jump gold medal in London 2017. He retained the title in Doha 2019.
