 Noman (Shalaa x Mathool)

London, 19 October 2020 - Al Shaqab Racing celebrated a new two-year-old winning in Great Britain when Noman (Shalaa x Mathool) won the Visit attheraces.com Novice Stakes over 1,700 meters on the all-weather at Wolverhampton.

It was just the second start for the bay colt, who is trained by Hugo Palmer in Newmarket.

He finished third on his competition debut in a smart Newmarket maiden in September.

Ridden by Callum Shepard, Noman was drawn to the outside and was sent wide in the first furlong before coming to join the racing pack in the first turn.

Settled in mid-division, he travelled strongly with cover until the straight. Pulled into the centre of the track, he took the lead with a furlong left to run.

Finishing strongly, he won by one and three quarter lengths in front of Mickydee (Twilight Son x Spangle) with the third, Folk Magic (Dubawi x Miss Marjurie) another one and a quarter lengths further back.

Noman, a son of Al Shaqab first-season sire Shalaa, was bred by Eimear Mulhern and was sold at the Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale.
