Doha, 19 November 2020 - Al Thumama Racing’s X Force (Bungle Inthejungle x Nafa) completed a hat-trick of victories this season with jockey Soufiane Saadi riding the Ibrahim Saeed Ibrahim Al Malki-trained gelding to yet another feature win in Race Meeting 11 at Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) racecourse at Al Rayyan Park.
After bagging the Umm Al Houl Cup earlier this month, the 3yo lined up the widest in the seven strong Muraikh Cup (Thoroughbreds Class 2) on dirt.
The 1100m sprint saw Saadi and X Force take the lead in the final 100m and then pulling away for a comfortable victory, beating Injaaz Stud’s Izzthatright (Moss Vale x Miss Adelaide), ridden by Jason Watson for Zuhair Mohsen Zuhair Maki.
X Force clocked a time of 1:04.19 under lights. Saadi won the top prize of QR57,000 while Izzthatright saw Watson get richer by QR22,000.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Sowaidi’s Top Face (Tiznow x Toppisme) trained by Hamad Ahmed Al Malki Al Jehani and ridden by Carlos Henrique finished in third spot worth QR11,000.
In the day’s seventh running, Dheban, ridden by Ali Khalid Al Mosallam, clinched the top place. Dheban clocked a time of 2:02.30 in the 1900m marathon as Al Mosallam won QR34,200. Saadi, who eventually bagged the honours in the feature race of the day, finished in second place with Ernest Aldrich. Saadi won QR 13,200. Roman Legend, who had Marco Casamento, in the saddle, finished in the third place worth QR 6,600.
Earlier in race seven which had only seven entries, Al Mosallam guided Leafy Moss to top finish in a time of 1:11.18 in the 1200m race.
Trained by Mohammed Gassim Ghazali, Leafy Moss’ top finish was worth QR34,200.
Zarandi, trained by Hamad Ahmed Al Malki Al Jehani and ridden by Carlos Henrique sealed the second place. Henrique won QR13,200. Francois Herholdt, astride Cool Exhibit, was third (QR6,600).
