Sheikh Joaan crowns winners of Father Amir Camel Racing Festival

Doha, 28 January 2021 - The President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani crowned the winners of the main ten rounds of the annual purebred Arabian Camel Festival for the sword of H H the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Organized by the Camel Racing Organizing Committee within 2020-2021 season at Al Shahaniya camel race track, the festival witnessed a wide participation from camel owners in the GCC countries.
Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani crowned the winners of the four main rounds of Al Hail and Al Zamoul competitions for the camels of Their Excellencies Sheikhs on the golden trophies. Al Shaqab’s “Teiha” won the Golden Sword round, while Al Shahaniya’s “Tuwarea” claimed the Golden Shelfa title. Al Shahaniya’s “Ramz” and Al Mirqab’s “Mashkour” won the two Golden Daggers.
Sheikh Joaan also crowned the winners of the six main final rounds of Al Hail and Al Zamoul competitions for the camels of tribe members on the silver trophies. 
Owner of “Naseem” Nasser Abdullah Al Misnad won the Silver Sword.
Sheikh Joaan awarded Mohammed Zayed Al Khayareen, owner of “Marmouqa”, and Ali Metlea Al Otaibi, owner of “Awayed” with the Silver Shelfas. Nasser Abdullah Al Misnad, owner of “Al Mqemaa”, Said Mohammed Al Khayareen, owner of “Mebaed”, and Mansour Abdul Hadi Al Hajri, owner of “Al Wasmi” were awarded the Silver Draggers.
