Hamad al-Qadi excels in Big Tour at Hathab

Doha, 31 January 2021 - Hamad Nasser al-Qadi won the Big Tour title astride Gibria-B in the ninth round of the Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour Hathab supported by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund.
Yesterday, at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s outdoor arena, al-Qadi led his nine-year-old chestnut mare Gibria-B to victory with a fastest round of 73.86 seconds. He later went quicker with his another mount 11-year-old Electra B but the pair clipped a barrier and picked up a four-second penalty for the runners-up place. Saeed Nasser al-Qadi impressed on bay stud Andreas SPB Z to finish in 76.05 secs and take final place in the podium.
Earlier in the Open Class, Mohamed Jabor al-Naimi emerged triumphant with Naville Z. The pair produced a winning time of 28.92 secs in the in 125cm class. As many as 58 entries were in the field, which highlighted the growing base of showjumping interests in Qatar. 
Salmeen Sultan al-Suwaidi astride Guilder’s Empire Of The Sun finished second in  29.57secs, while Mohamed Saeed Haidan on Apple Bee finished third (45.74secs & 30.18secs). Haidan had won the Medium and Small Tour titles on Friday.
In the Future Riders’ Class (Max 90cm), Kian Monti, Ahmed Jassim alSuwaidi and Fahad Abdulkarim Abed excelled returning flawless routines to claim the first, second and third places on the podium respectively. In the Max 80cm class, 1. Barzan Azzam Saleh, Hadi Nasser Al Hajri and Eqab Mohammed Al Rashid were first, second and third respectively.
