Qatar shooters in Cairo for Arab Championship

Cairo, 2 June 2021 - Qatar shooters are participating in the Arab Championship to be held in Egypt from June 1 to 12 in Cairo and at the Olympic Center in Maadi.

The Qatar athletes concluded their final training session at Lusail Shooting Range prior to their departure for Cairo.

Those comprising Qatar contingent include Olympic medalist Nasser Al Attiyah, Saeed Abu Sharb, Ali Al Ishaq, Hassan Al Mannai, Rashid Saleh Al Atba, Masoud Saleh Al Athba, Muhammad Al Kuwari, Rashid Hamad Al Athba, Nasser Al Hamidi, Mohammed Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Muhammad Dablan, Noura Al Ali, Reem Al Sharshani, Al Masdis, Nasra Muhammad, Noura Al Mutawa, Aisha Al Suwaidi, Shahd Al Darwish, Mattar Al Asiri and Osama Abdel Nasser Al Shaiba.

The Qatar contingent is headed by Ibrahim Al Mohannadi, member of the National Teams Committee, Team Director Muhammad Ahmad Taher, and the delegation’s administrator Al Anoud Al Nuaimi, also member National Teams Committee.

Ibrahim Al Mohannadi expressed confidence in the athletes participating ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games. The aim will be to achieve the best results and to bag as many medals as possible, he said. He added that the team is committed to all health safety procedures and protocols for each championship due to the ongoing pandemic the world over.

Rashid Saleh Al Athba stressed that participation will be the focus of everyone’s attention. Al Athba had won a bronze at the World Cup last year hoped to clinch gold at the tournament in Egypt.

“We completed our preparations well and we all strive to gain confidence and improve our performance ahead of the Olympics,” he said.
