Tokyo, 31 July 2021 - Qatar's Fares Ibrahim made history winning the country’s first Olympic gold medal in weightlifting competitions on Saturday.
Ibrahim claimed the gold medal in the 96kg category at Tokyo Olympics lifting a total weight of 402kg in a new Olympic Record.
Venezuela's Keydomar Vallenilla Sanchez took the sliver medal while Georgia's Anton Pliesnoi clinched the bronze medal.
