Doha, 7 April 2019 - The Qatari rugby team claimed the title of West Asia Rugby Championship 2019a fter beating Lebanon 13-10 in the final match held in Doha on Saturday.
The event featured the participation of three nations including Qatar, Jordan and Lebanon.
The win puts an end to Lebanon's recent success in the competition having won the previous two tournaments in 2017 and 2018.
The title was a culmination of a dominant performance by the Qatar team, who had finished third in the last edition.
“We are very pleased with the Qatar team's win in the championship and also the women's team's second straight title victory" Qatar Rugby, Cricket and Hockey Federation president Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari said.
