The Executive Office of the Council of Heads of the Olympic Committees in the GCC

Manama, 27 December 2021 - The Executive Office of the Council of Heads of the Olympic Committees in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) decided to postpone the third Gulf Games. The games, which was scheduled to be held in Kuwait from Jan. 9 to 19, will be conducted from May 11 to 21, out of concern of the safety of the Gulf athletes due to the spread of the Omicron, a mutated version of coronavirus.
This came during the 92nd meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Presidents of the Olympic Committees in GCC, which was held Sunday in Manama under the chairmanship of HH Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Secretary-General of the Committee, and the presence of Their Excellencies members of the office.
