Doha, 2 January 2022 - The friendly match between the national teams of Algeria and Gambia, which was scheduled to be played today, January 1, 2022, at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium has been cancelled due to positive cases of Covid-19 in the Gambia camp, which led to the unavailability of a sufficient number of players to play the match, in addition to travel and return policies in light of the pandemic.

The concerned department will contact fans who purchased match tickets for reimbursement; it was announced on Saturday.

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) is currently hosting training camps for Algeria, Ghana and Gambia as part of their preparations to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations 2022, which Cameroon will host from Jan 9 to Feb 6.
