Seven months after suffering cardiac arrest in a Euro 2020 match against Finland that nearly killed him, Christian Eriksen says he is eyeing a return for Denmark at the 2022 World Cup. In his first extensive public comments since his collapse, Eriksen was quoted by RTBF as saying that it's his goal to represent his country again in Qatar.
He said he's "back in top shape" and intends to "prove that I'm back at the same level," a transformation he hopes will be enough to earn an invite to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
"That's been my mindset all along," Eriksen said. "It's a goal, it's a dream," he added.
