Tehran, 28 March 2022 - The Qatari men’s beach handball team has qualified for 2022 IHF Beach Handball World Championship , which will be held in Greece next June, that came after a convincing 2-0 victory over Vietnam in the fourth round match of the eighth Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship currently going on in Iran’s capital city of Tehran.
Saturday’s victory was Team Qatar’s fourth win on row, that helped them to collect 8 points and book their place in 2022 IHF Beach Handball World Championships, regardless of their result in upcoming games against hosts Iran.
Besides hosts Iran and defending champions Qatar, Oman, Vietnam, the Philippines, and India are participating in the event.
Teams securing the top two positions in the continental event will qualify for the World Championships in Greece.
Qatar won the championship title in China in 2019, after defeating Oman 2-0 in the final match.
