Qatar League: Al Shamal Club Vice-President Asserts Team's Readiness to Excel this Season

Doha, 4 July 2022 - The Vice President of Al Shamal Club Abdullah Shamsan Al Sada, confirmed that the first division football teams preparatory program is proceeding as planned in order to provide an outstanding level in the 2022-2023 sports season.
The Vice President said in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that difficult challenges await the team in the next sports season, especially in light of the strong competition in the Qatari League (QNB Stars League) as clubs are preparing their teams in their external camps. He noted that Al Shamal SC will start the season early through its preparatory camp currently being held in Izmit in Turkey.
He added that Al Shamal played a distinguished season last year and is looking forward to providing the best level performance in the coming season, which is going to be exceptional for Qatari football, as it is taking place a bit before the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Al Sada revealed that his team aims to be in the safe zone, away from any complications in the competition. He also stressed his teams capabilities in occupying an advanced position in the league, especially compared to last season, in which it achieved the tenth place.
He considered that the team's performance in the first division last season was the result of great planning and work by the administrative and technical staff as well as the football players. Al Sada added that AL Shamal SCs aspirations for this coming season are different.
Furthermore, the Vice President explained that the club management concluded the question of professional players in the team by contracting with French defender Loic Lander, and renewing the contracts of Iraqi Amjad Atwan, and continuing of having on board the Jordanian duo Ali Olwan and Baha Faisal, in addition to the Portuguese Matias Nani.
To conclude his statements to QNA, the Vice-President of Al Shamal Club praised the clubs performance results in other sports, as a number of the clubs athletes competed under the banner of the national athletics teams and won colored medals.
