Qatar beach handball beats New Zealand

Birmingham, 13 July 2022 - The Qatar beach handball team defeated New Zealand 2-0 in their first match in Group A of the 11th World Games being held in Birmingham, USA, and will continue until July 17. Qatar won the first half 18-12, before continuing their superiority in the second half 22-6.

Qatar will play their second match against Croatia. Seven teams are participating in the beach handball tournament at the World Games, divided into two groups.

The first group includes Qatar, New Zealand and Croatia, while the second group has Brazil, the United States of America, Argentina and Puerto Rico.

The current participation of the Qatari team is their third in the World Games, having participated in the 2013 edition in Colombia and finished fourth, and the 2017 edition that was held in Poland where Qatar won the bronze medal.
