Birmingham, 18 July 2022 - Qatari national snooker team player Ali Al Obaidli scored the fourth place in The 2022 World Games, currently held in Birmingham, USA, after losing by three runs to his British runner-up Morgan Deerin in the third place match.
The match was defined by a fierce competition between Al Obaidli and Derin, which lasted for five runs before the Briton managed to win it due to his experience.
Scoring the fourth, Al Obaidli has completed his participation in the Birmingham 2022 World Games with great success, where he fought strong matches, most notably in the quarterfinals when he won over the German Umut, before losing in the semifinals to Cheung Ka Wai from Hong Kong, then competing for the bronze medal and losing to the British Deren.
The Qatari national team is participating in this tournament with two players, Ali Al Obaidli and Ahmed Saif.
The World Games (TWG) is held under the supervision of the International Olympic Committee and includes 34 different sports, including snooker. Al Obaidli qualified to compete in snooker competitions after receiving a special card based on his results and the development of his level in the world and Asian Championships, in which he reached the quarterfinals.
