2023 World Judo Championships flag is handed over to Qatar

Tashkent, 15 October 2022-  The 2023 World Judo Championships flag was handed over to the state of Qatar, the next host country of the event at a momentous handover ceremony in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The ceremony was held during the visit of the Organizing Committee of the World Judo Championship - Doha 2023 to the Uzbek capital to attend the ongoing World Championship.

Eid Al Muraikhi, Chairman of the Sports Committee at Judo Championship - Doha 2023 said “It is an absolute honour for us to receive the World Judo Championships flag. We congratulate Tashkent for hosting a successful edition of World Judo Championships and we thank all their teams for their support over the few days in transferring their knowledge and expertise to our teams.”

“Hosting the upcoming edition of World Judo Championships is another feather to Qatar’s cap in light of its commitment to develop Judo in our region” He added.

It worth mentioning that the IJF delegation has visited Doha last September where Claudiu Chimoiu who led the IJF's team hailed Qatar's preparations to host the world championships.
