7th AFC Medical Conference

Kuala Lumpur, 1 November 2022 - Doha will host the 7th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Medical Conference 2022, from 2-6 March 2023.

This edition of the conference bears the slogan (Football and Sports Medicine - Celebrating Diversity), and it will be organized in cooperation between the Asian Football Confederation, the Qatar Football Association and Aspetar Hospital for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

The conference will witness the participation of a distinguished group of medical and sports science experts from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), the continental federations in Europe, South America, Africa and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

With 120 days to go until the start of the conference, AFC Secretary General Datuk Seri Windsor John, said in a statement, that the 7th AFC Medical Conference is one of the highly anticipated events through which it is possible to review the latest challenges and best practices, and learn about the latest Advances in Sports Medicine.

He added that the conference is also an opportunity for medical experts to learn, consult and share experience and knowledge, in order to achieve the greatest benefit for players.

The AFC Secretary General pointed out that sports science plays an important role in ensuring the success of players and teams from the continent of Asia, hoping that the knowledge gained in this conference will bring the greatest benefit to the players, to ensure their safety, health and improve their performance.

He said that sports medicine continues to develop rapidly, and Asia must be at the forefront in this field, in order to ensure the best care for players.

On the sidelines of the conference, many individuals who worked in the field of sports medicine will be honored, and they will receive the AFC Service Award, in honor of their contributions to the development and medicine of football.
