Doha, 4 December 2022 - Olivier Giroud became France's all-time leading goalscorer, claiming his 52nd goal for his country, surpassing the great Thierry Henry.
The goal came just before half-time as Giroud converted Kylian Mbappe's pass, firing past Wojciech Szczesny.
Having provided the assist for the first goal, Mbappe ensured his side’s qualification by scoring two in the second half.
Robert Lewandowski did manage a consolation for Poland, firing in a penalty with the last kick of the match.
France will find out their quarter-final opponents tonight when England and Senegal meet at 10pm Doha time at Al Khor’s Al Bayt Stadium.
