England beat Senegal 3-0

Doha, 5 December 2022 - England took on Senegal at Al Bayt Stadium, in the fourth match of the round of 16. This was the first ever senior match between the two nations and it was the 13th time that England's first-ever match against a nation has come in a World Cup.

In the first half, Jordan Henderson scored the opening goal of the match, during the 38’ minute. Another goal came shortly after, at 45+3’, by captain Harry Kane, putting England in the lead.

Also in the first half, Senegal appeared to be the more intimidating as they sent in attack after attack.

England dominated the pitch during the second-half of them match, with Harry Kane close to scoring once more for his national team. England went on to win with a 3-0 victory over Senegal, sending them into an enticing quarter-final matchup against old rivals, France on Saturday December 10.
