Doha, 15 February 2023 - The State of Qatar's diplomatic, consular and representative missions abroad continued to organize various sporting events on the occasion of the 12th edition of the National Sport Day (NSD), under the slogan "The Choice is Yours".
In Riyadh, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized a sporting event with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah and the embassy staff, in addition to a number of Qatari employees of the General Secretariat of the GCC States. The activities included the organization of a football match, a walking competition and various sports exercises.
His Excellency Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah said in a speech on this occasion that since 2012, the State of Qatar has devoted the second Tuesday of February every year as a day for sports, in order to raise awareness of its importance in life, promote its human and moral values, and encourage citizens and residents to practice it on an ongoing basis in view of its multiple benefits.
His Excellency noted the distinction of the State of Qatar in organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, stressing the readiness of the country's preparations to organize the next Asian Football Championship.
