Doha, 20 February 2023 - The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced that the draw for the Round of 16 of HH the Amir Cup, in its 51st edition, will be held on Wednesday, featuring 16 teams of first and second division clubs.
The participating teams will be divided into two pools, the first of which will consist of the eight teams who finished first to eighth in the last season of the QNB Stars League. As for the second pool, it will have the teams ranked ninth to 12th in the QNB Stars League last season, the top three ranked teams from last season's Second Division League, in addition to Muaither which won the preliminary round game.
The matches will be played on a knockout system. In case of a stalemate during regulation time, a penalty shootout will be played to get a clear winner.
Al Duhail won the 50th edition of HH the Amir Cup, beating Al Gharafa 5-1.
