Doha, 11 March 2023 - The third edition competitions of Qatar Olympic Committee Beach Games 2023 kicked off on Friday at the Cultural Village Katara and will run from March 10 to 17.
Participants from different age groups are competing in the community’s most loved beach games, including beach football, beach volleyball, 3x3 beach basketball, boxing, karate, swimming go and duathlon. The organizing committee has allocated QR500,000 in prize money for top winners.
The opening ceremony was attended by HE Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee Jassim Rashid Al Buainain, HE Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Qatar Ridwan Hassan, and General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation Katara Dr. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, in addition to a number of public figures, heads of sports federations and members of the Olympic Committee.
The first day of the tournament witnessed competitions in beach football and beach volleyball, in addition to aquathlon and boxing.
