Successful 3rd QOC Beach Games concludes

H.E. Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain crowns winners

Doha, 13 March 2023 - The third edition of the QOC Beach Games 2023 concluded following eight days of exciting action at the Cultural Village Katara.

The massively successful event saw the participation of more than 800 athletes who competed for top honours in seven beach sports including football, volleyball, 3x3 basketball, boxing, karate, swimming and Aquathlon.

Qatar Olympic Committee's (QOC) First Vice President Mohamed bin Yousef Al Mana and the QOC Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain crowned the winners. The QOC also honoured the sponsors of the event in its third edition including Katara Cultural Village (official partner), Attraction (official sponsor), Vodafone (official sponsor), Elan (official supplier) and LuLu Hypermarket (official supplier). Al Jasra claimed the title of Men’s football event after beating Green Owl 3-2 in the final match while Super Soccer hoisted the trophy of women’s event following their 6-4 victory over Al Malek Team. In men’s beach volleyball, Police Sport Association edged past F45 to win the title. Edge Fitness took the third place after beating Al Dafna 2-0.

In women’s beach volleyball event, F45 defeated Edge Fitness to take the first place while Super Soccer clinched the third place.In a post-event statement on Friday, the QOC's Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain lauded the impressive technical level of the Games and people’s turnout to the third QOC Beach Games 2023 held at Katara Cultural Village.

“We are truly happy to see another successful QOC Beach Games. We are still benefiting from logistic and organisational legacy of the incredible 2019 ANOC World Beach Games that was held in Doha,” said the QOC Secretary-General.

“There are plans underway to increase society participation rate in these games and meet QOC’s vision and objectives," Al Buenain added.
