Doha, 5 April 2023 - The Qatar Football Association announced the opening of the door for candidacy for the elections of the Executive Committee of the Federation, which will be held on the sidelines of the Ordinary General Assembly, which will be held on the first of next June.
And the Qatar Football Association issued an official statement confirming that the Executive Council, which will be elected on the sidelines of the Ordinary General Assembly that will be held next June, will manage the affairs of the game over the next four years, from 2023 to 2027.
The statement indicated that the electoral committee of the Qatar Football Association, which is chaired by Mr. Abdullah Hamed, will receive applications for candidacy for the position of president of the association and members of the executive committee (with a president + 4 members) after the formation of the executive committee of the federation was amended by reducing the number of its members to only five for the period from 2023. to 2027, provided that the door for candidacy closes on the seventeenth of April.
The statement quoted the Chairman of the Elections Committee as confirming that an official statement will be distributed to the members of the General Assembly of the federation, who are 18 members (17 clubs + Qatar Stars League), regarding the date of the elections, the date of opening the door for candidacy, and the agenda of the General Assembly, where three forms will be sent to the clubs, the first is private. With the candidacy form for the position of president of the federation, the second is for the nomination form for membership of the Executive Committee, and the third is for identifying the two persons delegated by the club to attend the general assembly and vote in the elections.
The General Assembly of the Federation had approved, during its meeting held on March 27, to amend Paragraph 35 of the Articles of Association, which stipulates reducing the number of members of the Executive Committee from seven (chairman and six members) to five members (chairman and four members), provided that one of them is appointed as vice-chairman in accordance with to the provisions of the Statute.
