Doha, 2 August 2023 - The summer camp for Qatar-based Syrian children kicked off. It is organized by the EU Delegation to the State of Qatar in collaboration with Aspire Academy, Generation Amazing Foundation and On Fire Sports.
The event, which runs through Aug. 24, offers young participants from the Syrian community a variety of activities, including football and basketball training, friendly matches and educational courses. It also offers sports, artistic and cultural workshops, within a safe and fun environment.
Based on the messages and human development ideas promoted during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the camp provides an excellent opportunity to encourage the youth to respect diversity and enhance valuable skills such as teamwork, self-management and problem-solving.
The camp will also contribute to building a healthy and energetic community by instilling values of cooperation and inclusion.
Deputy Director General of Aspire Academy Ali Salem Afifa expressed his happiness at participating in the camp, expressing his belief in the power of sports and its ability to change lives for the better.
He also expressed his pride at collaboration with the EU Delegation to the State of Qatar, Generation Amazing Foundation and the ON Fire Sports to ensure unforgettable weeks for the children who will enjoy the facilities and activities offered by Aspire Academy.
Executive Director of Generation Amazing Nasser Al Khori said the summer camp is designed to inspire and uplift children in the Qatari society, adding that the combined resources and dedication will lead to make a positive change in the lives of these young people.
