Tehran, 26 August 2023 - Qatar men's volleyball team lost to Japan 3-1 in the semi-finals of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship held in Iran with the participation of 18 teams.
The loss of the Qatari team came after its lead in the first half with a score of 25-22, but it lost the rest of the matches with a score of 18-25, 14-25, 26-28, the Japanese team qualified for the final match.
The Qatari team will play the match for third place after a successful career in the current edition which started with the top of Group E, then reached the quarter-finals before reaching the semi-finals by defeating Chinese Taipei.
The Japanese team is the most team to reach the final with 11 times in which it won the title nine times and won the runner-up twice and it finished third in four tournaments.
