Lisbon, 1 September 2023- Liga Portugal was awarded Bronze Certification on Good Governance in Sport, after going through SIRVS. The certification ceremony was held at the Lisbon delegation of Liga Portugal and was attended by representatives from relevant media organisations, leaders, and executives from both Liga Portugal and SIGA.
Mr. Mohammed bin Hanzab, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIGA, said: “The Portuguese league’s obtaining the classification of SIRVS owned by SIGA is an important milestone in the organization’s march due to the objective, fair and independent evaluation it provides for the work of sports institutions, bodies and federations through three main axes, which are Good governance, financial integrity and sports betting integrity.”
The ceremony began with a welcome address from Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros. SIGA’s Global CEO congratulated Liga Portugal on their achievement. Medeiros also spoke about the importance of SIRVS in the fight for Good Governance.
Pedro Proença, Liga Portugal’s president, spoke about the importance of sport integrity and the commitment of Liga Portugal to upholding the highest standards in this area.
The highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the SIRVS certificate. The certificate was covered by a flag with the logos of SIGA and SIRVS, which was removed by Pedro Proença and Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros.
