Berlin, 8 September2023 - Qatar's Nasser bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi has been re-elected unanimously for a new four-year term (2023-27) as European Club Association (ECA) chairman.

This came after the 30th ECA General Assembly meeting in Berlin that brought together UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, alongside a host of other prominent figures.

The meeting discussed the progress made over the past two years, the important new Memorandum of Understanding between the ECA and UEFA, and ECA's future plans.

Al Khelaifi told the meeting the ECA held numerous general assembly meetings, board meetings, youth exchange, workshops and networking events in more than 25 countries across Europe. We were also able to host the first ECA Financial Sustainability Summit in Switzerland, as well as the first ever Women's Football Summit in London, which marked a milestone for the world of women's football.

Depending on the relationships in Europe and around the world, ECA have seen 440 clubs and 837 players around the world benefit from the FIFA-European Club Benefits program, including clubs from outside Europe, he said.

ECA proved it can work together for the sake of communities in Ukraine, Turkey and Syria, and it continues its continuing efforts to strengthen its responsibility towards society.
