Olympic Movement Principles within Sports System Course

Doha, 15 September 2023 - The Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) concluded the "Olympic Movement Principles within Sports System - Management 1" course which was organized in cooperation with the Olympic Solidarity of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The course was the first prerequisite course for the 13th Advanced Management Diploma Program for Sports and Olympic Institutions, which receives great demand from those interested in sports administrative work from inside and outside of Qatar.

The five-day course brought together about 30 participants from various sports and administrative specializations from Qatar and abroad.

The course was presented by Hisham Al Adwani, the Vice Chairman of Oman School Sports Association (OSSA), Director of the Advanced Sports Management Diploma Program from the IOC and International Lecturer in Sports Management accredited by the IOC.

At the beginning of the course, Al Adwani presented the concepts of sports management, Olympic history, Olympic symbols, charter and values, administrative skills, steps to develop administrative and sports cadres, as well as planning and resource management in sports institutions.

The second prerequisite course for the Diploma offered by QOA will be in October under the title "Modern Management of Olympic Organizations".

The course will cover administrative skills in sports such as communication skills, providing an effective work environment, time management in sports institutions, technical management, activities and events management, as well as human resources management.
