Doha, 9 October 2023 - The Qatar Olympic Committee President H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani crowned the winners of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2023, which was concluded at the Lusail International Circuit.
The crowning ceremony was attended by Minister of Sports and Youth H.E. Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, Qatar Airways Group CEO and Chairman of Qatar Tourism H.E. Akbar Al Baker and the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation President Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai.
Max Verstappen won his first race as a triple Formula One world champion on Sunday after dominating Qatar Grand Prix race.
The victory from pole position under the Lusail floodlights was a 14th in 17 races, and career 49th, for the 26-year-old Red Bull driver who clinched his third successive title in a Saturday sprint.
Australian rookie Oscar Piastri, winner of that 19-lap sprint, finished second with McLaren teammate Lando Norris in the third place.
