Abu Dhabi, 29 October 2023 - Qatar swimming team continued to win medals in the Arab Swimming Championship, as it won four new medals in the ongoing event in the UAE.
Medals won by Qatar on the second day were two gold, one silver and one bronze.
Mohammed Mahmoud won the gold medal in the 50-meter butterfly race, while the relay team consisting of Abdullah Al Ghamri, Mohammed Mahmoud, Tamim Mohammed, and Ahmed Dhiyab won the gold medal in the 4 x 100-meter medley race.
Abdullah Al Khalidi won the silver medal for the 50-meter race, while the relay team consisting of Ahmed Dhiyab, Abdullah Al Khalidi, Abdullah Al Ghamri and Mohammed Mahmoud won the bronze medal for the 4 x 200-meter freestyle race.
On the first day, the Qatari swimming team won one gold, two silver and two bronze medals, bringing the medal tally to 9 (3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze).
140 male and female swimmers from 16 Arab countries are participating in the tournament: Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Algeria, Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Morocco, and Iraq.
The Qatari team is represented by 8 swimmers: Abdullah Al Khalidi, Mohammed Mahmoud, Tamim Mohammed, Hamza Shaalan, Ahmed Dhiyab, Abdullah Al Ghamri, Mohammed Jilani, and Saif Al Burshid.
