Qatar National Closed Squash Championship

Doha, 16 November 2023 - The Qatar National Closed Squash Championship began, organized by the Qatar Squash Federation at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex for a duration of three days, with the participation of more than 60 players.

The tournament features several national team players in various competitions, including the Boys' categories under 11, 13, 15, and 17 years old, in addition to the Men's category.

This local closed championship highlights the performance of national team players to help conduct a comprehensive assessment of their levels before participating in various upcoming international and regional events.

Executive Director of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation Saad Al Muhannadi, who is also the tournament director, said that the Qatar National Squash Championship holds significant importance within the agenda of the Qatari Federation. It provides a snapshot of the Qatari players' levels across various categories, allowing an understanding of their strengths to enhance and address weaknesses. This initiative is part of the preparation for the upcoming sports season.

Al Muhannadi emphasized the Federation's commitment to continue organizing and hosting as many tournaments as possible, whether local or international, to raise the readiness of players and develop their levels in a manner that sets them on the right path towards professionalism.
