Doha, 19 November 2023 - Following the unprecedented success of the initial ticket release, where over 150,000 tickets were swiftly snapped up, the highly anticipated second batch for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 is poised to go on sale this Monday.
A formal announcement from the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, shared via their social media channels, revealed that the second wave of tickets is scheduled for release on November 20. While eager fans await further details on the number of tickets available in this batch, the Local Organising Committee is expected to provide additional insights in due course.
The first wave of ticket sales witnessed an impressive response, with 81,209 tickets being sold within the initial 24 hours. Countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and India emerged as frontrunners in this enthusiastic ticket rush that commenced on October 10.
Hassan Rabeea Al Kuwari, Director of Communications and Marketing at the Local Organizing Committee for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup Qatar, had previously indicated that the committee would unveil the specific procedures for the release of the second batch in conjunction with the official agreement with the Asian Football Confederation.
Set to unfold across nine stadiums in Qatar from January 12 to February 10, 2024, the tournament will feature 24 teams from diverse Asian nations, engaging in a total of 51 matches over the month-long event. The participating stadiums include seven World Cup venues—Lusail Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium, and Khalifa International Stadium—alongside Jassim bin Hamad Stadium and Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
The grandeur of the 88,000-capacity Lusail Iconic Stadium will take centre stage, hosting both the AFC 2023 opener between reigning champions Qatar and Lebanon, as well as the climactic final match of the tournament.
