Doha, 12 December 2023 -The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Local Organizing Committee (LOC), continued its interactive programs by organizing visits by delegations of fan leaders of the Asian teams participating in the tournament scheduled for the period from Jan. 12 to Feb. 10, 2024.
The committee organized a visit for a delegation of Asian fan leaders to Lusail Stadium, accompanied by a number of employees of the tournaments organizing committee.
The committee provided detailed information to the delegation about the stadium, which is one of the most famous football stadiums in the world as it hosts the final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the committee also provided an explanation of the stadiums readiness for the opening of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 on January.
Fan Engagement Senior Manager at the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Local Organizing Committee, Faisal Khalid confirmed to the Qatar News Agency that great efforts are being made by the committee to make the tournaments activities a success and to facilitate the process of communicating with the delegations, which will begin arriving in Doha in the coming days.
The delegation of fan leaders of the participating Asian teams which includes (24) representatives of the teams that will compete in the tournament finals, learned about the places designated for the fans who will support their teams, and the spaces for fan movement in terms of the stadiums' capacity and amenities.
Lusail Stadium will host the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 opening match which will bring together the Qatari team, (defending champion),and Lebanese team in Group A on the Jan.12.
