Doha, 17 December 2023- HE Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali presented awards to the winners of the eighth and ninth races of the 15th horse racing competition organized by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club at the racecourse in Al Rayyan.
The ninth main race was held for the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Trophy for Local Purebred Arabian, aged 3 and above, over a distance of 1500 meters.
The victory in this race went to Wathnan Racing, with the horse "Bakir" securing the first place with a lead of a length and a quarter over its closest competitors. The second place went to "Al Mirage" from Al Shaqab Racing, and the third place was secured by the horse "Sealine" from Wathnan Racing.
The eighth race, which was held on the Qatar National Day Trophy - Purebred Arabian (Class 1 Gr2) International Race, aged 3 and above, over a distance of 2000 meters.
The race witnessed strong competition between the participating horses. The horse "Djafar," owned by Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, secured the first place and the prize after an exciting finish. The second place went to "Jabalah " from Wathnan Racing, and "Al Wakrah" from Al Shaqab Racing took the third place.
