Doha, 1 January 2024 - The Qatar national football team defeated Cambodia 3-0 in their friendly in Doha. All of Qatar’s goals were scored by striker Almoez Ali.
The match was part of Qatar’s preparations for the forthcoming AFC Asian Cup 2023. Qatar will play another friendly against Jordan on January 5.
Qatar coach Marquez Lopez played a 4-3-3 coordination having included goalkeeper Saad Al Sheeb, defender Lucas Mendes and Boualem Khoukhi with support from full-backs Homam Al Amin and Pedro Miguel. Abdulaziz Hatem, Mustafa Tariq Mishal and Akram Afif were in the middle, and at the front was the trio of Ahmed Fathi, Almoez Ali and Khaled Munir.
Lopez is scheduled to announce the final list of players who will represent Qatar at the Asian Cup 2023. Defending champions Qatar will begin their campaign on January 12 against Lebanon in Group A which also includes China and Tajikistan.
