Doha, 8 January 2024 - Omani national team touched down Monday in Doha where they will be competing in the imminent the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 due to run from Jan. 12 to Feb. 10, 2024.
Branko Ivankovic's men will be in action in Group F along with Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan and Thailand.
Oman who mark their fifth AFC Asian Cup appearance and the third in a row, will play their group stage opener against Saudi Arabia on Jan. 16 at the International Khalifa Stadium. They will take on Thailand and Kyrgyzstan on Jan. 21 and 25 respectively at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
Oman recorded their best result in the tournament in the UAE in 2019 when they went through to the last-16 before being eliminated by Iran in a 2-0 loss.
