Doha, 29 January 2024 - The Qatar football national team booked their place in the quarter-final of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 after their victory over Palestine 2-1 in their match at Al Bayt Stadium in the round of 16.
Defending champions of the Asian Cup 2019, who reached their 11th consecutive winning in the Asian Cup tournaments, turned their defeat 1-0, with a goal scored by Oday Dabbagh in minute 37, to a significant winning after captain Hassan Al Haydos managed to score the equalizer in minute 45+7 of the first half, while Akram Afif scored the winning goal in minute 49 from a penalty kick.
With this win, Qatar booked their ticket for the quarter-final to face the winners of the Uzbekistan and Thailand match on Tuesday.
