Nasser Al Attiyah Leads Qatar International Rally Standings

Doha, 2 February 2024 - Defending champion Qatari driver Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah finished today's six stages of the Qatar International Rally, the first round of the Middle East Rally Championship this year, at the top of the overall standings.

Al Attiyah, accompanied by his Irish navigator, Giovanni Bernacini, aboard Volkswagen Polo GTI, recorded a time of 57.37.1 minutes in the stages of the second day, 5.6 seconds ahead of his closest competitor, the French driver Pierre-Louis Loubet, accompanied by his navigator and compatriot Loris Pasco, aboard Skoda Fabia R5 Rally2, who came in second with a time of 57.42.7 minutes.

Norwegian Mads Ostberg, accompanied by his Swedish navigator Patrick Barth, riding Skoda Fabia R5, took third place timing 58.10.4 minutes, while Qatari driver Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, accompanied by his Irish navigator James Fulton, aboard Volkswagen Polo GTI, came in fourth place timing 58.27.3 minutes. Omani driver Abdullah Al Rawahi, accompanied by his Jordanian navigator, Atta Al Hamoud, riding Skoda Fabia Evo, completed the list of top five places with a time of 58.54.2 minutes.

Meanwhile, Qatar's Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah (1:05:00.7 hours), Jordan's Shaker Jwaihan (1:07:14.8 hours), Lebanon's Ahmed Khaled (1:09:42.5 hours), and Jordan's Hossam Salem (1:12:05.2 hours), took the sixth to tenth places, respectively.
