
DOHA, February 25, 2019- M. Pallonji defeated CCRC Warriors by five wickets in the Division 1 final of the 5th M. Pallonji Cricket Tournament at the West Bay Cricket Complex on Friday.
Batting first, Warriors batsmen managed to score 131 runs in 19.4 overs. Asadullah scored 24 runs off 15 deliveries with two boundaries. Mazhar Abbas and Muzammil also chipped in with 16 runs each. Naveed and Alban took three wickets each, while Sanath, Siddiq, Praveen and Sandesh claimed one wicket each for M. Pallonji.
In reply, M. Pallonji achieved the target, after the loss of six wickets in 18.4 overs. Rajesh scored 26 runs off 18 balls with one six and two boundaries and Rauf contributed 26 runs off 15 balls with two six and two boundaries. Sultan (16) and Sajeev (11) were the other contributors.
Mazhar Abbas claimed three wickets, while Moshin, Firdous and Fawu Khan took one wicket each for the Warriors.
M. Pallonji’s Rauf was declared the man-of-the-final, while Warriors’ Muzammil bagged best batsman award. M. Pallonji’s Alban and Praveeb were declared best bowler and best all-rounder of the tournament. Best wicket-keeper award went to Mazhar of Warriors.
M. Pallonji’s regional general manager Chidananda Nayak and contracts manager Sharad Reddy gave away the prizes.
