Bangkok, 28 February 2024 - The Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation, Tariq Zainal, has been elected vice-president of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) by acclamation for the third time, during elections that have been held recently in Bangkok.
In the same elections, the Kazakh Yuriy Polskiy has been elected president of ATF after a powerful competition.
Tariq Zainal affirmed that being reelected for this stint represents a new success of the Qatari sport process and underscores the incredible confidence the State of Qatar is receiving from all regional, global, and continental sport structures, adding that he is hopeful to continue working with the ATF officials to further advance the game across the continent.
The Qatar Tennis Federation strives to advance the game in Asia through holding many continental tournaments and offering all possible facilitations for the Asian players to participate in those tournaments, said Zainal who started his career in ATF since 2016.
